Indonesian batik exhibited in France

People in France now can enjoy batik as the Indonesian patterned fabric is exhibited in Saint-Jacques Gallery in Saint Quentin on March 27 to May 12. 
The exhibition is a part of collaboration between the museum, local government and a batik collector from Switzerland, Gaspard de Marvala. Deputy Mayor of Saint-Quentin, Stephane Lepoudre said batik exhibition was held to express the appreciation from France government to batik, which was recognized by UNESCO as intangible world heritage.
The batik exhibition presents a collection of 200 batik patterns of Java, Madura, Sumatera and Sulawesi. Javanese Batik is represented by Batik from Surakarta and Batik Tiga Negeri, which is a combination of batik from Pekalongan, Surakarta and Yogyakarta.
