Indonesian population to reach 300 millions by 2032

Experts on population and environment predict that the population in Indonesia will reach 300 million people by 2032 with the majority of young people.
"In 2030, our population will be 295 million people. Assumed that there will be 60 million newborns, the population will reach 300 million by 2032," the Chairman of the Presidential Council of Advisory on Economy and Environment, Emil Salim, said on Saturday in the side lines of Population Dynamics and the Post-2015 Development Agenda in Bali.
Salim said Indonesia had three big trends on demography in post-2015. Young adults population will grow rapidly, population will grow older and the mobility of the population will be complex.
He said that population problem could not be overcome with only one policy. "Indonesia is not only Java Island," he warned.
The experts suggest several points for Post-2015 Development Agenda. They suggest that Indonesia needs to ensure its people that fertility rate can be controlled and recommend them to use safe contraception methods.
The team also urges government to eradicate poverty, ensure the health and education, increase the growth of urban and working people, secure food and nutrition, anticipate any conflict and create open government.
